Therapy for Young Adults

The years between 18 and 30 aren’t always easy. You’re doing your best, but sometimes it’s just overwhelming. In addition to depression and anxiety, young adults often face significant life transitions that can be challenging to navigate. These transitions might include moving away from home for the first time, starting college or a new job, ending a relationship, or coping with the loss of a loved one. It’s understandable that you feel like you’ve got a lot on your plate.

Common Life Challenges Among Young Adults

  • Relationships - You might be dating or navigating your first serious relationship. Maybe you’re dealing with a breakup or there’s conflict with your friends or your family.
  • Mental Health Concerns - You might be struggling with anxiety, depression, or substance use. Or maybe you’ve experienced something traumatic.
  • Stress - A little stress is normal in life and can even be motivating. But too much stress can cause burnout at any age. Many young adults face tremendous amounts of stress to do well in school, find a job, be involved in extra curriculars and be accepted by their peers.
  • Sense of Self and Purpose – With all the changes ahead of you, it can be daunting to figure out how to stay true to yourself and live authentically.

This is not an exhaustive list of reasons why a young adult may want to speak with a therapist by any means.

My Approach

At Integrative Wellness, I offer a range of evidence-based therapies to support young adults struggling with the issues listed above and more. I take a holistic approach to mental health care, addressing not just the symptoms of mental health concerns, but also the underlying factors that contribute to them.

I believe that the therapeutic relationship is a critical component of effective treatment, and we will work to create a safe and supportive space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgment.

I also understand that talk therapy is not for everyone, which is why I offer a range of creative arts therapies to engage clients in the therapeutic process. From art therapy to music therapy, we will leverage the power of creative expression to help you access and process your emotions.
