Hi, I’m Shannon!
In my work, my passion and purpose is to help children, youth and young adults shift away from whatever they are struggling with so they can begin to find their voices and learn to fully love and accept themselves for exactly who they are. Whether they are struggling with depression, anxiety, self-harm, or interpersonal skills, it’s important to me that my clients know that they are worthy of love and belonging. My own experiences have shown me that these stages of life involve so many unique struggles and challenges, which can be overwhelming, isolating and difficult to manage. With so many new temptations and choices, young people can benefit from having a safe, compassionate space where they can take off the mask, see that they are not alone, and gain the support and skills needed to make lasting positive changes in their life. I work with my clients to accomplish this through talk, play, and/or creative therapies depending on their age and preferences.
I’ve felt the immense benefits of having an authentic relationship with a therapist. As such, I meet with clients using a down-to-earth, person-centered, and compassionate approach. I believe that the relationship between a counsellor and a client is deeply personal and that finding the ‘right-fit’ is of great importance to successful therapy. My education, experience, and personal life challenges have equipped me to walk along on this journey with you.
Above all else, I believe that everyone is deserving of the life they want to live, and I want to help you achieve that life.
